Admissions authorities are required to consult on their admission arrangements whenever a change to the arrangements are proposed, or if no changes are proposed, every 7 years. As such, the Cabot Learning Federation is consulting on the admissions arrangements for Kingsmead Academy, for students joining from September 2027.
The consultation period will run from 19 December 2025 to 31 January 2026 (minimum of 6 weeks)
Kingsmead Academy is a secondary academy without post-16 provision. The academy is consulting as they are implementing a new admissions policy for students joining the school from September 2027.

To apply to transfer to secondary school, please complete the online form through Somerset Council.
In-year applications must be submitted directly to the school using the in-year application form. If you wish to have a printed copy, please contact admissions@kingsmead-school.com
The Headteacher will consider batches of applications on a bi-weekly basis with a 4pm deadline every Friday (term time only) for receipt of applications. If more applications are received than there are places available, the over-subscription criteria will be applied
A decision will be notified in writing to the applicant within 10 school days. Where a school place is offered, it will be held open for 21 school days and applicants will need to confirm acceptance within this time.

All applicants refused a place have a right of appeal to an independent appeal panel constituted and operated in accordance with the School Admission Appeals Code.
